“Do Not Let Them Forget Us” — Sailors from the USS Liberty Navy ship heard these words from deceased shipmates as it returned from Malta (to Virginia) following its attack by Israel in 1967. 

 

In part 2 of Unacknowledged Valor: The Attack On The USS Liberty, David Gahary presents his research into reasons WHY the Liberty was attacked, why military aid was denied and details on why such an important part of American history has been dismissed.

On June 8, 1967, the USS Liberty, a US Navy research ship was attacked by the Israeli Air Force.

 

On June 8, 1967, the USS Liberty, a US Navy research ship was attacked by the Israeli Air Force. The crew is entitled to know the details concerning the attack by the Government of Israel and the role of the US Government in the entire affair.

The USS Liberty is the only US Navy ship attacked by a foreign nation, involving a large loss of life and so many personnel injured that has never been accorded a full Congressional hearing.

Listen in, as Dave Gahary, author of Erasing The Liberty, provides a timeline of events leading up to the attack and his beliefs on “WHY?”, which he bases on years of research, interviews with servicemen and officials around the world.
